The Quake - All's Well At This QTH

I know some folks probably don't get over to my Costa Rican Life blog, A Dull Roar, much. Over there I described the quake just after it happened. Yes, we're fine, and no apparent damage here. It was a 7.6Mww at the epicenter, but about 6.5Mww down here. Definitely the biggest shake we've had since moving here almost 4 years ago, though. Thought it would never stop and there were some aftershocks too.

Fortunately, this has been a relatively mild rainy season so the ground is not saturated. If it were there probably would have been a number of slides, which could easily block a road or two. That often happens even without any help from a terremoto. Anyway, just part of life living on one of the hotspots of the Pacific Ring of Fire! 73!

Didn't even know you'd had a quake. Glad you're all OK.

Hope you didn't have too much damage. We live in a normally quake save area. But due to abuse of nature by pumping earthgas out beneath us we suffer from it by time. A few weeks ago we had a shock of almost 4 Mww. It was heavy for us, but not to compare to what you experienced. 73, Bas

Good to hear all is well Casey, We got the news on Twitter very soon after the event. I did send you a tweet but two things there....not to sure how tweeting works so not sure if you got the tweet. The other thing was not sure if communications were down. Good to hear all is ok with you.
